2020 Mazda CX-5 | Rear Cross Traffic Alert | Smail Mazda

August 27th, 2020 by

The Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system on the 2020 Mazda CX-5 is designed to assist the driver in checking the area to the rear left and right side of the vehicle while the car is in reverse, perfect for reversing out of a driveway or parking space. The system will alert the driver when it detects vehicles approaching the rear of the vehicle.

The RCTA system is activated when the vehicle is in Reverse. The system uses the rear view camera and the same sensors that monitor the blind spot to detect vehicles approaching the left or right side of the vehicle.

If the system detects a vehicle crossing your rear path, the system will beep and also display flashing warning triangles on the infotainment display to alert the driver that it is not safe to continue.
