2020 Mazda CX-5 Touring Model | Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go

July 29th, 2020 by

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Stop & Go work together to automatically adjust and maintain speed, and keep a safe following distance from the car in front of the vehicle. These functions help relieve the driver of some of the burden that comes with long drives, highways and traffic.

MRCC uses radar sensors to judge the relative speed and distance to the car in front of it and based on that information, automatically maintains and adjusts the vehicle’s speed without the person driving having to use the accelerator or brake pedals.

The Stop & Go function is designed to maintain headway control. Headway control controls the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of it. Together, MRCC and the Stop & Go function detect the distance to the vehicle in front of you, and will gradually slow down and eventually stop your vehicle as the car in front of you adjusts its speed and comes to a stop; all while maintaining a safe distance.

Once the vehicle comes to a stop, MRCC will continue with the push of a button and will gradually bring you back up to the previously set speed.

Additionally, if your vehicle starts closing in on the vehicle ahead, such as if the vehicle ahead brakes suddenly, a warning sound and a warning indication in the display are activated simultaneously to alert you to maintain a sufficient distance between the vehicles.
