Car and Driver Names the Mazda CX-5 Best Compact Crossover SUV for 2021

Car and Driver has created a ranking list of every 2021 Compact Crossover SUV and listed them from worst to best. The list consisted of 16 Crossover SUVs and the Mazda CX-5 was given the number one spot.
The Mazda CX-5 was praised for its detailed interior appointments and standard full suite of active safety features. The Mazda CX-5 also offers a sense of luxury compared to the other vehicles in its segment.
In terms of performance, Car and Driver states that, “The CX-5 also endears itself to us with steering and handling that are uncharacteristically responsive for the segment, and Mazda has further enhanced that ability with the addition of its G-Vectoring Control Plus technology.”
The new CX-5 features a new infotainment system that runs on a 10.3 inch touchscreen and sits on top of the dashboard. The new system features the new Mazda Connect interface and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The CX-5 is also available in the new Carbon Edition which features a unique Polymetal Gray exterior paint and red upholstery.
Matching this intuitive technology is a responsive driving experience with the naturally aspirated four-cylinder Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter engine, able to deliver 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque on either regular (87 octane) or premium (93 octane) fuel and is equipped with a quick-shifting, six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift and sport modes.
The CX-5 was also named one of Car and Drivers 10Best award winners for 2020.
*Affordability and practicality make the compact SUV segment one of the most popular destinations for buyers looking for a vehicle that does a little bit of everything.
